Beans Be Goin' For da Gold!

The athleticism of  her parents has been inherited.

which is evident by the video I received last night via text message from her beaming father.

(who also seems to think Beans calls him by name.....
Tia Big Boca Bob isn't convinced)

The journey to the gold medal podium at the 2022 Olympic Games has started.
The sport of choice, however, is still up for debate.

Unfortunately for her parents,
I'm afraid all of this attention may be going to her head.....

"Oops! Did I just pull myself up?"
"Whatchoo know 'bout bein' a rockstar?"
"Now get me some mo' juice, Pops!"

Diva status has escalated.

Good luck with this one Mama B and Huracan!

Beach Babies

Beach Baby
Beach Baby
 There on the sand.......
From July
til' the end of September

Note to Mama B and CareBear:
Keep the photos coming! I seriously cannot get enough of your adorable children in their summer wear. However.......the photos become slightly depressing when I realize I will be sporting the same beach body as my nieces this summer. Somehow the chub on my body is not nearly as cute as little baby rolls. Make sure my name is on the invite list to all events involving babies in swimwear during the months of June through September. Please and thank you.

Furthermore, due to your uncanny ability to create amazingly well-behaved beautiful children, baby fever (no pun intended) is in full bloom at Casa de Bob. Officer Bob is less than amused at my requests for serious conversation regarding the timeline of my child bearing years. I suppose I better get through this wedding thing first.

Who is going to have the cutest flower girls this side of the Rio Grande?

This girl!

Beans Finds Her Voice

Let's take a look at the women that proceed this talkative little chicana:
  1. Mama B
  2. Naked Nana
  3. Mama Dirt
  4. Big Boca Bob
  5. Dancing Queen
Is it really any surprise that Baby Beans can hold a full conversation at the age of 10 weeks?

I think not.

Sorry, Huracan, but for your little offspring, blabbering is somewhat second nature.

Don't act like you didn't know what you were getting yourself into.

P.S. Is Beans not like the cutest baby you've ever seen? I mean really.......

Heart = Melting!

I Think I'm In Love

MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM MY
SLEEPOVER WITH BEANS

  • Observing a new father devote his time to caring for a precious baby girl.
  • Watching that same father bond with his daughter over yet ANOTHER Bears loss!
  • Snuggling with possibly the smallest human being I have ever held in my arms.
  • Listening to the story telling talents of the Naked Nana
(Proven by an e-mail I received today explaining the events that led to this blog moniker. Quite possibly one of the FUNNIEST e-mails ever written by a one-armed woman under the influence of several mind-altering drugs)

  • Performing a Christmas photo session with one of Santa's littlest elves.
  • Watching a new father kinda sorta successfully accomplish his daughter's nighttime bath.
  •  Laughing hysterically at the sight of a squeaky clean Beans with a sad case of what we like to call "CareBear Hair"
  • Giving my undivided attention to my niece
  •  While making sure to spend quality time with her jealous older brother.
  • BUT OBVIOUSLY  SOAKING UP EVERY POSSIBLE MINUTE WITH 6 POUNDS OF GENUINE INNOCENCE.

This little family will never be the same.
Thank you, Beans, for bringing magic to our lives.

Beans Blab: Welcome To The World, Mi Sobrina!!

December 3, 2011 at 9:31am
Huracan and Mama B became the proud owners of this:
Tied with Pebbles as the MOST BEAUTIFUL baby ever born!
(but then again, I am a little partial!)

Beans weighed in at 6lbs 9oz
(thankfully much lighter than her 9lb 10oz father)
The jury is still out as to the owner of the dominant genes.
Granny Dirt says the lips come from Mama.
Grandma B says the baby comes from Mexico.
I side with Grandma B.

Regardless, my little bean burrito can be described in one word.
PERFECT.

Tia Big Boca Bob made sure to get her fair share of snuggle time.
Like you had any doubts.

Mommy and baby are both doing great!
Reports of the labor and delivery seem to conflict between
Mother and Father as perceptions of the
13 minutes.....yeah thats right........
I said 13 minutes
seem to be slightly different.

As I try to hash out the details to offer you a full review of the birth,
AND as I locate the memory card holding the hundreds of pictures
with which I tortured my new baby niece, I leave you with this:

My TWO Baby Girls!!

Oh 2011, You sure have blessed me!!

All Hallows' Eve: The Fun Factor Increases The Older You Get

The other day, I made the statement:

(and I quote)

"Someday I am going to grow up to be a mature adult. Today is not that day"

Is it just me or does Halloween get increasingly better the older you get? I remember the days of trick or treating having a blast running around town, filling up on an insane amount of candy, picking out which teachers' houses you were gonna hit up for the best selection, and totally crashing from the night's festivities around 9:00pm.
HOWEVER, as my age increases over the years, I must admit that my maturity has not. Halloween has officially become a night of dressing up in ridiculous attire, creating your own dance parties, playing alcohol-related games that I'm not so sure have any clear, concise rules, and hittin' the club in an effort to show up all the slutty 21 year olds who dressed up in as minimal clothing as possible. Question: Have you ever seen a mouse wearing knee high stockings and lingerie? I have. And they travel in packs.

Halloween 2011 did not disappoint in the area of "awesomeness." What could be more fun then spending the evening as Mexi-Pippi Longstocking (representin' Brown Town) challenging Jake and Elwood Blues to a rousing game of flippy cup while a bumble bee buzzes around the table showing off dance moves circa 1994? I find myself drawing a blank! - because there is absolutely NOTHING better!

The night only became slightly awkward when Jake and Elwood thought it would be appropriate to celebrate flippy cup wins with the occasional make-out. I never realized the Blues Brothers were so close! I'm assuming they left that part out of the story for a reason.
And then the party truly began when Elwood, Pippi, and Buzz the Bee totally annihilated the kittens, Lady Gaga's, butterflies, fairies, and every other totally overdone female costume of the year on the dance floor. I hate to brag but WE CAN bust a move! And damn do we look good doing it!

And as amazing as it was beating that poor little cheerleader in a Beyonce dance-off, nothing compares to the emotions I felt when receiving this picture via text message from Huracan.
That adorable baseball is the home of my future niece or nephew. Props to Mama B for joining in the Halloween fun! I may be a Cubs fan, but I am an even bigger fan of Baby Beans.

2011: The Year of Procreation

Could it be possible?

Is this really happening?

I can't even grasp the concept.

My older brother Huracan Ramirez and his woman, Mama B, are having a BABY!

Un BEBE!

Huracan - the man who writes songs about dirty sanchezes and is still fairly incapable of sorting and washing his own laundry is reproducing. GOD HELP US! Is it bad that upon hearing this news, my first thought was to call Mama B and apologize for the future ahead of her? However, I have some good news, Mama B. Mexican babies are SUPER adorable. It's a shame that Huracan takes after the "cracka" side of the family, but I'm sure some of those chicano genes will come out somehow.

Baby Beans will be making his/her presence in early December.

This was my first gift to the happy couple.

Raza Babies: "Beaner Baby!" Infant Creeper
I'm already the favorite Aunt. Can ya blame the kid?!

Furthermore, this ridiculous, crazy, can't-even-totally-comprehend-the-news announcement opens up the opportunity for a new segment for the Big Boca Bob blog. Along with Gunther Gab, I will be introducing Beans Blab.

I like babies.

When other people have them, of course.

My four-legged adopted children are enough trouble as it is. And I allow them to eat their own poop. I guess that's morally wrong for humans or something. I've still got some things to learn. Good thing I have nieces/nephews to practice with!

P.S. Surprisingly, Officer Bob is equally as excited (about babysitting for the poop eating kids).
