#burritobeat2015 Days 17 & 18

Day 17: SURPRISE Sergeant Bob! Bobbie Burrito and I kept a super big secret for the past few months and planned a surprise 30th birthday fiesta for the man of the house. As hard as it may have been to follow the chain of lies told to my loving husband over the past few weeks, I can proudly say he was shocked at the sight of approximately 40 of his family and friends sporting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle masks blowing noise makers and air horns yelling Happy Birthday on Saturday afternoon.  An inappropriate word or two might have slipped his lips when he opened the door to the TMNT crew. It was truly a turtley awesome time. So awesome in fact that Big Boca Bob only took time to snap a few photos (cake and cookies shown above) most of which were not taken on her camera. Photos will be posted at a later date once we collect them all. A HUGE thanks to all those involved! Sergeant Bob felt the love. COWABUNGA!

BTW You may be asking yourself, "Why was there no post yesterday?"
The festivities were just too much to handle. Bobbie Burrito and Mom were out by 8:00pm - and I'm not even 30 yet! Yikes!

Day 18: Cheering for the Cheese! We spent the afternoon listening to dad and Grand Puba cursing at the TV through an utterly disappointing NFC championship game.  The Packers may have let us down today but we will ALWAYS remain faithful to our men in Green and Gold.

#burritobeat2015 Day 5

Impromptu dinner date with Grand Puba and Daisy Duke. Avocados.....yum! Mom forgot to take a picture so she requested a selfie from Mimi and Grandpa. Bobbie Burrito was blessed with pretty techno savvy grandparents. Brett Favre even made a cameo. What a good lookin' couple!

It's Happening.

Ready or not..........

It's Happening.

Saturday Night Fever rocks the hizzouse THIS weekend.

P.S. I'm ready. Seriously ready.

Today Grand Puba and Daisy Duke celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Daisy Duke said it best - "Why even think about a second honeymoon......when there's no evidence that we have even finished our first." I sure do hope that thirty years from this Saturday, Officer Bob and I will be able to express the same sentiment. Thank you Grand Puba and Daisy Duke for raising your son in such a loving household. It is because of you that he will have the courage to stand next to me this weekend and start the long winding, twisting, turning, full of potholes road down our own journey of marriage.

I knew the day I met him
he had to be The One.

The one that I'd been waiting for
was the one who is your son.

As his mom you gave him guidance,
that taught him how to find
the very best within himself,
and now that blessing's mine.

As his dad you showed him how to treat
the woman of his dreams
with trust, respect, and patience
the love you taught him gleams.

In days gone by you held him
and now you let him go,
If tears fall on our wedding day
I'll understand, you know.

I want so much to thank you
for all that you have done,
for The One that
I've been waiting for
is the one who is your son.

Grand Puba and Daisy Duke -

From the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU.
I will never be able to express the happiness you have given me.
My heart is full because of your creation. God's blessing to you became my own.

La Navidad To Remember!

I promise I was a good girl this year.

If you forget about that small mishap involving tequila and a dance floor

And those moments that I kinda sorta referred to my boyfriend as a "cracka"

Oh....and let's overlook that time I walked out of Walmart with an UNscanned case of water under my cart and it was raining REALLY hard and I totally didn't go back in to pay for it. Sorry Mama Dirt.

Good thing Santa's age is finally catching up to him and
his memory is starting to slip

Because Santa Came to Town.........

And what I am assuming was supposed to be coal,

Turned into a DIAMOND!

That's right folks!

OFFICER BOB POPPED THE QUESTION!

And you know I'm a sucker for white boys and bling!

 So here's the details.....

I am a collector.

Not of lint.

But of hand-painted glasses. Wine glasses. Martini glasses. Margarita glasses. Pilsners. Any glass that is capable of holding alcohol and beautifully hand-painted, count me in!

Officer Bob was mandated to spend his Christmas weekend with drug dealers and prostitutes so we took full advantage of his time home in the evening to have our own little gift exchange.

One by one, Officer Bob opened his oh-so-exciting presents consisting of t-shirts, polos, and hoodies. I'm a practical shopper.

Finally, it was MY turn.

Officer Bob handed me a gift of which I was sure of the contents. All of my hand-painted glasses are packaged the same. I had seen plenty of these cylinders and knew exactly what was inside. Or so I thought.

Officer Bob did not appear nervous. He did not appear anxious. There were NO signs that anything was out of the ordinary. Therefore, I went ahead and opened my present in no rush with no anticipation.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear?

But a BEAUTIFULLY hand-painted martini glass decorated with diamond rings...........

And an even more BEAUTIFUL diamond sparkling right in the center.

A real diamond ring.

Diamond.

Ring.

Get it?

I look to my right and see Officer Bob down on one knee in front of the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve mouthing something along the lines of "Will You Marry Me?"

YES! YES! YES!

And one more for good measure.

YES!

I would hardly consider Officer Bob a romantic, but I will never forget the Christmas that Santa sent me a fiance. The man of my dreams. The love of my life.

And my future husband.

Wedding Planning Has Officially Started!

P.S. I must sincerely apologize to Grand Puba. In the midst of the engagement excitement, I unfortunately was unable to post your very own Birthday Blog. For fear of hurt feelings, I would like to make up for this by providing this blog audience with a "snapshot" of you of which I would like to title:

GRAND PUBA THROUGH THE YEARS
 The Adorable Years
The Swing Choir Years
The "Boys with their Toys" Years
The "Where's Bubbles?" Years
 The Compatible Years
    And The Reno Years

FELIZ CUMPLEANOS, GRAND PUBA!

Your son got you the best gift of all!

A Mexican!!

Just Another Reason.........

I ABSOLUTELY, POSTIVELY, NO DOUBT IN MY MIND............

HATE COLD BLEEPIN' WEATHER!!!!!!

Let's take a look at the following equation:

Moisture in the Air + Freezing Temperatures = Snow

Snow + Driveway = Slippery

Slippery + Car = BROKEN GARAGE DOOR

There I was like a slow motion movie:
Foot on brake to the floor,
hands waving,
curse words being shouted,
"STOP, you effing car!

And then.......car meets garage door.

A BIG thank you to Titty Baby and Grand Puba for being my knights in shining armor (or should I say shining leather and camo). It's a good thing I have cable and Kahlua on hand just for times like this. An hour in freezing temperatures fighting with the unresponsive, cold, poor excuse for a garage door was apparently forgotten once I was able to provide - 2 glasses of Kahlua and cream and 1 super-fantastic-amazing-holy cow-what the hell happened season finale of Sons of Anarchy!

Remind me to make sure to pay the cable bill and stock up on liquor in case it decides to snow again.

Big Boys Play Dress Up Too!

Mark the date. This past Saturday. That beautiful summer/fall-ish day. Officer Bob and I officially moved in to Casa de Bob. It's been a long month of hard work, and there is PLENTY left to do, but I finally declared the house "livable" and we are here to stay. Good thing I have a loose definition of the term "livable". I am unable to do laundry or watch cable, but clean clothes and reality TV are apparently overrated. My priorities have been a little skewed throughout the renovation process. In fact....I sent Officer Bob to the cable company to get us set up today BEFORE hooking up the dryer. I don't care if he's the stinky kid at work as long as I am able to watch Teen Mom!

During the moving process, it was discovered that Officer Bob really had no idea the depth of his own closet. After pulling out what we thought was the last bit of clothing, Officer Bob stumbled upon this getup.
According to Grand Puba, this was the style "back in the day" when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and fire was yet to be discovered. Grand Puba may not be a fashion icon but I thought he was better then looking to Clint Eastwood as a role model. Apparently the "flasher" coat is called a duster, and both Officer Bob and I received a lesson in the proper styling of this unfortunate fashion mishap. Grand Puba shared stories of the "glory days" when he was able to chase and leap after the bad guy wearing his trusty duster. In my opinion, these so-called "bad guys" were most likely running in fear that Grand Puba would either A. Peddle a watch from his stash or B. Attempt to mount them horsey-style as this duster was specially designed for. It's a good thing Grand Puba spent his days working in law enforcement because he always had an escape from the fashion police.
I also have a theory regarding Officer Bob's career choice. After watching all the fun he was having playing dress up with his daddy, I am certain this was not the first time this has occurred. I have no doubt these two used to spend time playing cops and robbers forcing both of them into a lifetime working in the criminal justice system. Poor Gilbert was even roped into the fun serving as Officer Bob's trusty steed. Gilbert may be the size of a small horse, but I would not include "trusty" as being one of his strengths. Officer Bob's steed would soon leave at the first sign of a bacon-flavored treat.
There you have it folks....playing dress up is no longer a hobby for four year old girls or Victoria's Secret models. Big boys play dress up too! (Before you go getting all defensive, Officer Bob, the term "big" refers to your age and not your size.) I'm just not sure, however, that the cowboy-ridin' tough guys wore Puma tennis shoes. Maybe we can put some spurs on those puppies.

Side note: This is where my boys slept the first night at the house. I learned my place pretty quickly. Big-screen TV....Gilbert...then Big Boca Bob. I knew what I was getting into, and I am not surprised. At least I get my own shoe closet, right?
